Course options

This section is useful for those planning on taking an entire Agroecology programme as well as for guest students wishing to include one or two agroecology courses in their current master programme.

The Ecology of Farming and Food Systems
This course is a master’s level course worth 6 ECTS. This calculates into approx. 15-20 hours of work per week, for nine weeks. The prerequisites are 2 years of university studies or its equivalent in agriculture, economics, natural resources, human nutrition or other relevant applied social or natural sciences. Notice that the course 2007 is scheduled to start on Jan 29th and end on March 30th. The applications must been sent to VHS, Sweden, before October16, 2006.

Italy and France
Our network has a close collaboration with universities in Italy and France, where master’s level education in Agroecology is also offered.

The University of Torino and the University of Tuscia in Italy offer a spring semester package in the field of agroecology.

FESIA – France also offers a semester package in agroecology in the autumn semester. To complete this semester, students must have French language skills.

Europe
The internet site of the European Network of Organic Agriculture University Teachers (ENOAT) gives an overview of courses available in Europe in the field of organic farming.
